“S o what you’re telling me is that we have a Queen, completely mad , in her own realm?” Anock looks around the table and then sits down with a heavy sigh. “I don’t see the problem.”

This meeting was going great. Not .

Envy clears her throat and sits up straighter. “Queens going mad is the norm. We get it . But this…” She trails off and my heart sinks.

We left her there. Cander and I just ran. Left her there in her own powers being a ball of crazy. As the others around us explode in arguments about what to do, I sink further into my chair. I feel like such a shit friend. I mean, who leaves their friend like that? We can’t die, so why did Cander think it was so dangerous. I should have stayed and at least tried to break through to her. Now Kay has taken it upon herself to lock everyone out of her realm, including Envy and Strife, who are her Watchers. The shit feeling I have stems partly from me thinking she’s also pissed I just took off on her. Just because she is a demon doesn’t mean she is blind. She just transformed and being the Queen of Emotions, was probably feeling a lot. I mean she said she felt everything and then I just ran.

“AKIRA!” A hand being slammed on the table breaks me from my death glare I was giving the wine in front of me.

I look over to see Lucifer now standing at the head of the table beside Anock. Great .

“Snap out of your shit, love. No time for pity parties.” The King says, looking directly at me before locking his eyes to the rest of the table. Cander is sneering at him and I wonder where he gets the balls to look at someone with so much power like that, but then I remember it is Cander . The same Cander who is an asshole, who is also my husband and whose fault this partially is.

“Now. Each of you sound off on a report. How are the realms looking with my Pitt demons? And as much as I love the power of the runs on Earth, they are finished for now. I need this Pitt demon problem reigned in and then this wayward queen problem sorted.”

As meetings usually started, the Watchers at the far end start first sounding off reports from their Queen about souls, numbers of demons blah, blah, blah.

Usually I love this. I’m a freak like that. I like going to these meetings and feeling like I’m a part of something. Even if it is a demon in Hell, reporting how many people they killed. It’s better than being a Hollywood socialite that people only see as entertainment. But ever since Kay I can’t snap out of this foul mood and this meeting only serves to make it worse. Instead of sounding off numbers we should be figuring out how to break through to her.
