He tore through the mountain, grabbing creatures as he went. They followed him to the top exit. Their power hungry faces snarled and gnashed. They were vastly impatient, but he knew the feeling. His brother cowered in the corner. His razor-sharp teeth gleamed, and his clothes hung from his skeletal form like spanish moss.

“We have our orders. Find the boy and bring him back here.” The creatures screeched in acceptance. “No killing. Bring him here and any others you can. We need them for our power.”

Black mist swirled around them. Snow formed in the air. His anger was getting out of control. He fought to tamper it.

He turned and flung the shutters open. “GO! Bring them here!”

The creatures screeched and the valley filled with their cries, as they dove from the windows and took off after their prey.

He faced his brother. “You will take the others on foot.”

The brother bowed. “How do you know this is the one?”

Pulling the shutters closed, he said, “The dark told me.”

His brother bowed again and moved down the dark hall, praying the dark was right this time.
