In âJudgement Dayâ the Terminator says "Hasta la vista, baby"... in âRise Of The Machinesâ he says "Talk to the hand"... which is not exactly bad ass. The Terminator character is lightened up for this film because the tone is so dark. The film probably needed that balance. Though it may seem like a fun summer film, it's much darker than âJudgement Dayâ - can you remember any other big summer film with an ending like âRise Of The Machinesâ? That ending really took balls! We are powerless to stop Judgement Day, the best we can do is postpone it. Though âGenisysâ claims to ignore this film and âSalvationâ, it maintains that dark concept that there will always be a Judgement Day... and is a little more jokey in this film to balance that out.
