Southern Methodist University: The Boulevard

I was once told by an SMU fan that he doesn’t tailgate, he “Boulevards.” Game-day festivities at SMU are held in a grassy area on campus known as “the Boulevard.” Shortly after the opening of Gerald J. Ford Stadium brought football back to the SMU campus, the Boulevard quickly became the central gathering place for SMU tailgating. Along the picturesque, tree-lined Bishop Boulevard, thousands of fans will gather under an array of red, white, and blue tents. With live music and delicious tailgating spreads, fans of all ages will have a blast “Boulevarding” before SMU takes the field.
