That Door has a lot of front

I would also include the doorbell as part of the security set up. As simple and as functional as the traditional ones are, the latest ones have built in video cameras and have the ability to send you a picture to your phone if not a direct video call to let you know who’s at your door. I am convinced these will be standard in the future. The idea being that you can speak to the person at your front door remotely, therefore, the person won’t know if you’re actually in or not. A great deterrent for burglars. Again, this isn’t something I’d like (if I can help it) to have wireless, but even if it was, it’s still going to need a power line, else again you’re going to be relying on batteries. I also envisage in the future newer style door locks are going to be modernised to provide automatic lock/unlock, possibly finger print entry. They will no doubt need a reliable form of power, so whilst running power to the door/door bell, I’d take the liberty of burying a network cable or two around that area for the future. If anything I’d expect some door bells to double as video cameras, and therefore you’ll want to be able to integrate them into your CCTV set up. They might even operate via POE (see security systems previously) which would make them even easier to install (as long as the cable is there in the first place!).
