My two lights followed the golden discs to this temple.

As Shu and Tefnet,

look past the one who is your Osiris

to find the path to enlightenment.

Sara latched onto his arm and pulled him close before he could react. “This is it.”

Harry was too busy scrambling through what he recalled of Egyptian deities to comprehend. “What’s ‘it’?”

“Where the amulets sent us. This is what we’re supposed to find. Shu and Tefnut are twins.”

“Like Cleopatra Selene II and Alexander Helios. Does that matter?”

“Look at the second part.” She touched the Greek letters spelling out Osiris. “Osiris isn’t related to Shu or Tefnut, but he does have a sibling. A sister.”

“…who is your Osiris,” Harry said. “Shu and Tefnet are twins, same as Cleopatra’s twins. Her two lights, who have golden discs we followed. Cleopatra built this temple, which means these walls carry her message. Cleopatra is talking about the two amulets her twins have. And your Osiris means we need to look at the twins’ brother.”

“Because Osiris is a brother too,” Sara said. “It’s a bit of a stretch, but it makes sense. The Egyptian gods had incredibly involved family dynamics. I think Cleopatra is telling us to look to the brother of her twin children. Caesarion.”

Harry looked deeper into the gloomy room. “Is he mentioned anywhere on these walls?”

“Hold on one second.” Sara pointed at Harry’s chest. “Nicely done. Interpreting this riddle.”

“Not sure why I brought you along now.”

“Then I’ll let you figure out where to find an image of Caesarion.”

Harry rolled his eyes. “How am I supposed to know what he looks like?”

“Perhaps you could consult an Egyptologist. If you can find one on the harbor floor whom you haven’t yet offended.”

He grumbled. “Any guidance would be most welcome.”

She turned back to the wall as Hamdy propelled himself in behind her, closer to the wall, where he nearly pressed his mask to the stone as Sara began to speak. “Look at the inscription on the wall. There’s a space after the word for enlightenment. It’s unusual, and I suspect it’s calling attention to the symbol that comes next. A symbol, not a word.”

“Looks like a Greek word to me.” Harry squinted. “Caesarion.”

“Not exactly. See this line running around it? That’s called a cartouche, and it’s indicative of royalty. But this one is a bit odd. The line around his name isn’t only oblong as most cartouches are. This one has a tail on one side.”

“This line at the top?” Harry pointed at what looked like a leopard’s tail hanging down from one upper edge of the oblong circle.

“It’s a pschent. It’s a double crown worn by Egyptian rulers. Including Caesarion.”

Harry knew a thing or two about Egyptian symbols. “I thought they wore crowns that came to a point. Sort of like an upside-down vase.”

“You’re smarter than you look,” Sara said. “Rulers from various time periods wore different crowns for different occasions. The crown you’re referring to is called the hedjet, which was common centuries before Caesarion’s rule.”

“If they have all these
