Chapter Eight

Gareth took a deep breath of Dae’s musky sleep sweat scent as he slowly woke. His husband smelled like sunshine and sea salt. He hummed as he took another sniff. The sun shone through the blinds and when he opened his eyes, he took in the beautiful black of Dae’s hair and how his bare shoulders were devoid of any imperfections, save one mole on his right shoulder. Gareth smiled sleepily as his lips pressed against the dark spot.

Movement behind him caught his attention and he turned to look. Locking eyes with Lamont who was gathering his clothes, Gareth grunted and turned over.

“Sorry,” Lamont whispered. “I didn’t mean to wake you.”

“You don’t have to go,” Gareth smiled as memories of the previous evening flashed in his mind.

“Yeah, I do actually. I have class in two hours. I got to get home.”

“Class?” Gareth asked.

“I’m studying psychology at Royal Holloway,” he explained.

“Oh, I didn’t know.”

“No, of course, how could you have,” he grinned. “We didn’t do much talking last night.”

The memory of sliding inside Lamont’s tight heat as Dae slid into him took Gareth’s breath and his morning wood twitched. To take and be taken was probably Gareth’s favorite thing.

Lamont leaned over the bed, once dressed, and kissed him. “Happy birthday, Gare. Please tell Dae thanks and I’m so glad to have met you both.”

“Gare?” Dae questioned, opening his eyes and, seeing Lamont he smiled. “Hey, where do you think you’re going?”

“Sorry, I need to go,” Lamont apologized.

“He has class, babe,” Gareth explained.

Dae sat up and turned. “I wanted to take us to brunch,” he smiled softly.

“I’ll grab something from the lobby. I really wish I could stay. It’s already 1100.”

“Is it really?” Dae asked glancing at the clock. “Well, it’s no wonder.” The twinkle in Dae’s eyes filled Gareth’s heart with joy. “Let me see your phone.” Lamont’s brows furrowed but he handed it over. “We’re going to be out of town for a month or so on business, but if you’d be interested, we can text each other when we’re back in Civvy Street,” Dae said as he tapped away on Lamont’s phone.

“Oh, I’d like that,” Lamont said. “I thought it was a one and done type thing,” Lamont said.

“Sometimes,” Gareth agreed. “But if both parties are interested, we’ve been known to extend that offer, only occasionally.”

The grin that crossed Lamont’s face when he heard Dae’s phone ring, then Gareth’s, was bright Dae handed him his phone back. “Now we all have each other’s numbers.”

“Thanks. I…” he looked sheepishly at them both. Gareth realized what he was looking at. Gareth felt the hickey Dae had given and loved watching the one Lamont gave Dae. “I’m dancing tonight if you wanted to come by. Same time as last night, 0200.”

“We‘ll try. But we have a lot to do to get ready to ship out.”

“Ship out? What, like the military or something?”

“Something like that,” Dae confirmed.

“Oh… well, be careful?” The man had gone pale and Gareth’s brow furrowed.

Gareth took his hand. “We will.
