And now Iâve come to the end of the warm-up. There remains one last mystery around which to wrap your heads. It concerns the so-called ânatural fatherâ of SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus labeled RATG13. A substantial part of the international scientific community and practically all of the mainstream media â with several authoritative exceptions, one should note â today passively accepts RATG13 as the natural ancestor to SARS-CoV-2 . However, over this supposed forefather, and even over its real existence, hangs a disconcerting scientific cloud. The plot thickens here, but I insist that the readers follow it, because if there was a response the TV-virologists brandished like a sword in order to silence any doubts on the origins of Covd-19, it was that today science knew with certainty its natural genetic father, RATG13. Nonsense. And whatâs more, this phantomlike RATG13 coronavirus also points in a truly controversial direction, to a dark world of military technology and illegal experiments which Iâll only touch upon in brief.
First of all, letâs take a look at the acronym. RA stands for Rhinolophus Affinis, which is an Asian bat of the Rhinolophidae family, in whose blood the virus lives. TG is more interesting, unfortunately, because itâs the abbreviation of Tongguan, where the first biological sample containing this microbe was collected by scientists of the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) after the sudden and mysterious death in 2012 of three people who were working in an abandoned mine full of bats in the region of Mojiang located in Yunnan province. Last, 13 refers to the year that the sample was collected, in 2013, by a team led by our Batwoman, Dr. Zheng-Li Shi from the WIV. The first stone against the paper scaffolding that describes SARS-CoV-2 as originating from RATG13 was immediately thrown by various scientific commentators in 2020: they pointed out that the province of Yunnan, which contains that fateful mine, is located at a distance of 1,880 kilometers from Wuhan where the pandemic exploded in 2019. Logically, the contagion would have first had to attack the population living in the Yunnan countryside which is crawling with that kind of bat, and not such a distant modern metropolis. Secondly, it was observed that, in the period of the year in which the virus was presumed to have made the recent jump from a different species in order to become SARS-CoV-2, the Rhinolophus affinis does not even fly, because itâs asleep, in hibernation. But the avalanche of data that definitively discredited the hypothesis of a natural origin unleashed by RATG13 is much more extreme than that. Here is the first part: itâs known that the molecular similarity between the presumed father (RATG13) and the son (SARS-CoV-2) is 96.2%, which to a layman sounds like they are nearly identical, consequentially it seems plausible for them to be related. But not at all, in fact itâs the opposite. One of the most renowned evolutionary virologists, Prof Edward Holmes from the University of Sydney, was draconian on this point, along with various other international colleagues, explaining that the difference of 3.
