To the one with the emerald eyes,
The ones that send a warmth
That tingles on my skin like a sunny spring day.
The ones who lead to a soul of a hero, my hero,
That doesnât hesitate to protect those around him.
To you I say thank you, and hope you will let me see the
Kindness in your eyes again,
If you will still have me as a friend.
It wasnât perfect, but I figure it does the job. But now what? Do I give him the poem? And is it enough? There is so much more that I want to say. How he has a spell on me and how much I have thought about him. But I donât want to push. The kiss was weird enough. But then again, he did write that he wanted me to think of him. Which I do. But this could push him away if he truly isnât ready.
No. I have to give the poem to him. I have to take that chance. He kissed me back. I felt it. Even if he doesnât want me the way that I want him, there has to be something there for him to just kiss back.
I go back inside and find an envelope. I tear the paper gently out of the notebook, taking special care to avoid any rips. I want it to look as nice as possible. I then fold it neatly, slip it into the envelope, and seal it. I get a pen from one of the drawers and write what I hope will be the perfect thing: To Dominic, Whom I havenât stopped thinking about.
I will give it to him. He needs to know that he has a friend. And if thatâs the only way he can be in my life, then itâs all I need. But I canât do it now. I need to work up the nerve.
I tuck it away underneath a bunch of junk, hoping that no one would look for it. Joseph and Kenny are still asleep, so I donât feel too scared about them finding it. Besides, thereâs nothing of value in the drawer, so I know Kenny wonât go snooping in it.
Now the waiting starts. Itâs going to be torture.
