At the same time, in his suite at the Chateau Marmont, Victor was once again giving Andrea the attention she needed when the phone rang. Eager for a break, Victor picked it up from the bedside table.

He listened and then said, “Uh-huh. And it’s fully soundproofed, right? Okay, wait.” Victor grabbed a pen and a pad of paper with Chateau Marmont printed on it. He scribbled on the pad and caught Andrea looking at him. Victor rolled off the bed with the phone in hand.

“Okay, give it to me,” he said as he moved into the bathroom.

Back on the bed, Andrea pouted, feeling neglected again. Hearing Vic speaking quietly, she rose and went to the bathroom door. She opened it wide and saw her boyfriend standing naked, hunched over the sink and studying the piece of paper.

His ass is so fine…

Andrea crept up behind him and peered over his shoulder. The paper was bare except for the number 8520. Victor, suddenly seeing her reflection in the mirror, crumbled the paper in his fist. He grabbed a lighter from where it lay on the bathtub near two candles and promptly lit the note on fire. He let it burn in the sink and immediately steered Andrea back into the bedroom.

“What’s wrong?” she asked, giggling nervously. “What are you soundproofing?”

“I’m thinking of putting in a recording studio.”

Andrea made a disbelieving face as she crawled back into bed. “Do you play?”

Victor seemed annoyed. “I plan on taking up the guitar. Or maybe I’ll make a gym. Actually, it’s too expensive; I’ll probably toss the whole plan.”

Andrea let it go, unwilling to risk making her boyfriend angry. Although Victor never hit her, never even yelled at her, Andrea could sense a storm brewing behind his eyes at times. The threat of thunder resided there, and something deep inside Andrea warned her to never allow that storm to unleash itself.
