Chapter Fourteen

“Where do you think you’re going?” a voice whispers in my ear as arms are wrapped around my waist.

“I’m going to find a pen and paper,” I reply happily.

“Nope. We are going to spend some time together as a group tomorrow. You get the whole day with us tomorrow. It feels as though we haven’t seen you in forever, but for now it’s time to go to bed.” Deven swings me up in his arms and carries me bridal style, taking the stairs two at a time and heading for my room. The door is already open, Aric smirking as he shuts it behind us, and I’m thrown onto the bed. I squeal as I bounce and land in the middle. I hug the journal to my chest and look up at my guys who are surrounding me. Aric waves pen and paper in the air before he places it on the side table just as I make a grab for it. “I know you want that for something, but first we need to talk. We need to clear the air,” Aric says as the others nod in agreement with him. “I didn’t even know Charli was there, at the brothel, we had to go to. She tried to make a move on me.”

“On us,” Deven interrupts.

“On us. But it didn’t work. I didn’t realize she was a conniving cunt,” Aric continues. “She was my best friend for a long time.”

“Boy was blind.” Deven nods his head as if his words are gospel.

“I was blind,” Aric echoes.

“I’m sorry for calling you a dragon,” Brandon jumps in. “But in all fairness, you had steam coming from your ears, you were so mad.” DD smacks him on the back of his head, and I just giggle. I can’t stay mad at these guys, as they are trying, but I do agree I did fly off the handle without listening to anyone and kinda did avoid them. They all take that as a sign and climb on the bed with me.

“I found this journal of my mother’s, and it’s all about Alpha Queens. There is a list of packs and their Alpha Queens that are located here in town. Oh, what is Faengsel Verden?” The guys go all pale, and DD visibly shakes.

“Why do you ask?”

“Because either the Alpha Queens were forced into mating or sent there.” Anger flits across their faces.

“It is a prison world. No way out unless it is granted by The High Council,” Brandon says. My face falls, and I’m disappointed that we may not be able to find them, especially if they’re in there.

“Couldn’t The Supernatural Society demand they release them or something?” I quip, hoping it is as simple as that.

“The High Council has jurisdiction over the wolves, but The Supernatural Society doesn't know about the prison world that we know of anyway. We’ve tried talking to them about it. But they’ve said the only prison world they know of is their own,” DD explains.

“So, there are two of them.
