DID YOU KNOW?

Every water bottle with a built-in water purifier bought from LifeStraw (lifestraw.com) helps provides kids safe water to drink at their schools.

A WYOMING KID SAYS:

“When we’re camping, I try to leave everything better than when we arrived by picking up trash that was already there and not littering anywhere.”

—Pearl, 12

Just don’t fill up your water bottle from a stream unless you know the water is safe to drink. It can make you sick. If you are going to be in the wilderness, ask your parents about getting a water bottle that has a built-in water purifier.

You can do your part wherever you are to protect the land and all the creatures that live there. That’s why national parks were first created.

Zoos, aquariums, and animal rescue centers are also great places to learn about threatened and endangered animals. They do a lot to help with conservation projects around the world. You might be able to “adopt” an animal you really like to help support those projects.

In case you are wondering, a species that is in danger of extinction is endangered; a threatened species is one that is likely to become endangered. Some animals, such as Steller sea lions, gray wolves, and giant pandas, are no longer endangered because of conservation efforts around the world.
