“So your boss is intense.” I whisper, nudging Luna in the shoulder as we pack up her rental. Stella and the guy, Sebastian, who came with her left to get dinner before we hit the road.

“Yeah… I’m sorry about that. Stella is kind of a mother hen to her friends and her girls. Everyone else, she’s a bit of a fighting rooster.” She teases me with claw hands as she walks around to pull out another suitcase from beneath the bed.

Laughing, I hesitate before asking, “You really think that guy wiped my record?” Continuing to fold and pack I don’t look up.

Luna pulls my chin, turning my gaze towards her. “If he said he did then he did.” She kisses my cheek before hauling up the suitcase onto the bed.

“I’ve heard about him from my sister. Sebastian is a super computer wiz. He runs some hot shot cyber intelligence or security company, I’m not really sure, but I heard he helped my sister’s brother-in-law stalk his wife. Well, before they got married. I’m sure you’ll meet Olivia and Matteo.”

“Huh.” I snort, taking it in, I remember what he said to Stella about wanting me. What would he want from me for doing what he did? To work for him? I’m not sure I want to be owing this guy any favors.

Obviously, he saw something he liked in my background and that is making me a little nervous. I have never lied to Luna about my past but that doesn’t mean I’ve been entirely forthcoming either. Every question she’s asked I’ve answered and everything I’ve said has been true, but I’ve never been very good at volunteering information about myself. Honestly, I’ve enjoyed getting to know her a lot more than I would ever enjoy talking about myself.

“Are you nervous?” She packs slower as she observes me from across the bed.

“Kinda.” I give her the truth. “It’s been a long time since I’ve been an entirely free man and I don’t want anything to keep us apart. It just feels a little weird to be preparing to cross state lines again.”

She crawls across the bed to me and I can’t help the way my blood rushes causing a tightness in my pants at seeing her on all fours. Her eyes don’t leave mine as she makes her way over to me. Sliding her hands up my chest she laces her fingers behind my neck.

“Nothing will ever keep us apart. You’re a free man now, baby.”

Throwing my arms around her waist I kiss her just as tightly as I hold her and she sighs, melting into my arms. I deepen our kiss and she moans. God, this girl drives me fucking wild.

I bite her bottom lip, sucking it between my teeth before I draw back and she whimpers. I look at her and her hooded eyes are glazed over with lust and I break.

Spinning her around I shove her chest into the bed, bending her over as I pull her pants down her legs.
