For me though, there is no rest. The dryad told me that I’d be fine staying up for days because it will only be a single night in the real world, but that doesn’t mean I won’t get mentally exhausted from focusing on a single task for days on end.

So, when the moment finally comes where the Astral Dryad gives me her stamp of approval, I don’t even try to hide my feelings.

“F-finally…” I slump down in my chair, exhausted.

“Aw, c’mon! It wasn’t that bad! Just three days of nonstop training!”

“Right. Not bad…” I don’t even have the mental energy to add any bite to my sarcastic response.

“Zzz…”

Alisha’s still snoozing, so I satisfy myself by watching her sleeping face as I readjust to life here in the real world. At the same time, my head slowly droops down until it hits the soft vines that make up the table.

“Hey, is it really time to be sleeping? The sun’s about to come up, you know.”

“I’m not sleeping. I’m just taking a little nap…”

“That’s the same thing!” The Astral Dryad’s exasperated voice brings a smile to my face.

“Heh.”

After hearing me snicker, the dryad looks at the smirk on my lips and begins to pout. “How rude, pulling one over on me this late in the game.”

I lift my head from the table. “I couldn’t leave without at least one victory, no matter how small.”

I was finally able to get a surprised overreaction out of her, something she’s been able to avoid up until now.

“Be aware that it will take you far longer to remove her curse than it would take me,” she says. “Three months is a reasonable estimate.”

“Got it, and thanks for teaching me how to remove it. I’ll pay you back for it someday.”

“In that case, you’re free to come worship me anytime you wish!”

“Sure, I’ll stop by when I’m around.”

I gently shake Alisha and she lifts her head from the table, leaving a small puddle of drool behind.

Hey, this girl really needs to learn to control her appetite.

“M-master? Where are we…” She looks around, the light slowly returning to her eyes.

“C’mon sleepyhead, we’re done here.”

“Ah, right! The training!” A switch must have flipped inside her because her energy returns in an instant.

“I finished it, so starting tomorrow night, I’ll be able to start healing you.”

“R-really!? I’m going to be free!?”

Alisha crashes into me and throws her arms around me. Now that we have all the pieces to cure her, it seems like it’s finally sunk in.

“Yeah, you’ll be as good as new.” I give her hair a few good strokes with my hand.

With all our business complete, we leave the Ancestral Glade and head back to our teammates, all of whom are awake now since the sun is already peeking over the horizon.

The plan is to leave for the eastern frontline early this morning, which means we’ll be running all day long after I just spent what felt like three entire days training in the Lucid World.

Man, this day
