Determining the sequences, or user flows, associated with the items you design can help you understand the requirements and constraints you need to design for. User flows illustrate the path followed by users through an interface to fulfill their objectives. The fact that user flows are common in interaction design doesn’t limit them to digital settings.

Not long ago our agency helped a city craft a campaign aimed at locals and visitors from select markets. The intention was to make them aware of cultural opportunities and encourage them to buy tickets, take in shows, and enjoy the city. The multifaceted campaign combined digital display advertising, social media updates, an event calendar, a contest component, and a handful of videos that documented visitors partaking in events and activities.
