I felt guilt that these young women were going off into battle on their own when we could have helped them more with training and expertise. Jealousy because they stood there with their friends filled with purpose and excitement as they prepared to enter a fight they believed in while we were simply standing by and going nowhere near the front. Admiration for the fact that these young fighters had the guts to put themselves on the line for their people. And pride in them and who they were, real warriors.
