‘Can you two stop arguing!’

Sitting in the back seat, Mason gave Mia another push.

‘Stop bugging me, Mason!’ Mia shouted back.

‘Look, you two, I’ve had just about enough! You’re both grounded next weekend.’

‘Am I grounded too, Mom?’ asked Olivia, looking up from the front seat; it being her turn to sit there.

‘No you’re not. Just Mason and Mia. They have to stop this constant niggling of each other.’

As Sarah drove her Land Rover along the narrow, winding coastal road towards Caernarfon on the way to school, a dark-coloured Rover pulled out behind her just after the church in the village of Trefor. A sixth sense alerted her. That’s strange, I’m sure that happened yesterday as well. She continued up the hill but instead of turning left on the A499 main road, she quickly decided to turn right. She waited for a gap in the oncoming traffic and then joined in a line of moving vehicles going the other way. The gap in the line was too small for the Rover to follow her. As she looked in her rear-view mirror, she saw the Rover still stuck at the junction.

Sarah monitored her rear-view mirror constantly over the next couple of miles, but then retraced her steps using the Caernarfon bypass to reach the school that way. She did not see the Rover car again and safely dropped the children off at school.
