Upon waking up, definitely not feeling rested, Claire noticed a few things. The first thing she painfully noticed, was that she was absolutely not lying down on a nice comfy bed. She was apparently sitting upright on a chair that wasn't particularly comfortable, which she was also evidently bound to at the wrists and the feet. The second thing she noticed, upon opening her eyes was that she could not see a thing. Wherever she was was pitch black. The third and final thing she initially noticed, as she slowly moved her head around to check if there was any light source in any direction she looked in, was that her neck was sore. Soon after the aches in her neck struck, she had a vague memory of what had happened before she lost consciousness. Something over her face, and then pressure on her neck, which she was one hundred percent sure was from a person's arm. More confused than anything, including scared, Claire began to think about where on Earth she could possibly be, why she was there, and who put her there.

Not only was Claire surprisingly calm for someone who had no idea what was going on and never in a situation like this before, but she was able to distract herself and even try to help herself straight away by trying to think about why she was in this mess. Reaching the conclusion that she probably wasn't the main objective of whatever was going on, she then did start to panic, as the horrible thought that she was being used to get to Adan came into her head.

Not being an arresting officer or anyone who dishes out the actual sentences, Adan always thought and told Claire that not only himself, but the both of them were safe from any potential dangerous and vengeful criminals, as he only analysed crime scenes. Claire did try pointing out that he still assisted in the capture and in some way the arrests of criminals, meaning he could just as easily be blamed for their incarceration. Even though Adan understood the point, he still believed it didn't matter, she knows how stubborn men are. Claire decided that clearly right
