The group strode quickly out of the museum. Sam was still trying to understand what was going on as he did his best to keep the kids at a respectable place.

"Guys," he pleaded, "slow down. We can't run through a museum like this."

The kids obeyed and slowed to a brisk walk, though more than once he had to remind them not to push it.

"What has got you three so excited all of a sudden?" Sam asked.

"We'll tell you outside," Corin responded without looking back at him.

They passed through the exit and waved politely to the lady behind the counter at the gift shop. When they were back out in the courtyard just beyond the entrance to the castle, Corin hurried over to a bench under a shady tree and sat down. She scrolled through the pictures on her phone for a moment, making sure the ones she'd taken were good enough for what she had in mind.

The boys sat down on either side of her, leaning in to get a better view.

"Those look good," Desmond said. "But I still don't get how we're going to fill in the gap with the puzzle."

"Yeah," Sam said, as if he knew what they were talking about. "And I'm still wondering what is going on. Would you mind filling me in here?" He threw his hands out in a dramatic show of exasperation.

"We tried to tell you," Diego said. "But you wouldn't listen to us. You thought we were lying."

Sam's head bobbed as he turned it one way and then the other. He was at his wit's end.

"Okay, fine. You're right. Okay? You're all correct. I didn't believe you. I still don't know what all this is about, so there's a part of me that still doesn't believe you. It would be helpful if someone would let me know what is going on around here because, quite frankly, it's making me a little crazy!"

His voice rose, and the kids collectively leaned back for a second as he finished his rant.

Then they giggled.

"You really look funny when you get angry," Corin commented and then went back to looking at her phone.

"I'm not angry!" Sam realized he was yelling and lowered his voice. "I'm not angry," he said in a much quieter tone. "I'm just frustrated."

The kids exchanged glances with each other and then looked back up at the bodyguard.

"We told you before," Desmond said. "We're looking for an ancient treasure. Yes, we know it might not be there anymore, like you said. But we've found two pieces of the puzzle that will show us the location."

"Pieces?" Sam said. He was calming down, and his breathing was no longer fast like he'd been running. "You mean that piece of rock back there with the...what was it you said?"

"Latin inscription." The three kids said the words together.

"Right." Sam's voice sounded absent, bewildered. "So...that piece of rock. It goes with another rock?"

The kids nodded.

"And that other rock is where?"

"In the hotel," Corin said.

"Okay. And what about the map?"

"It's there, too," Diego answered.
