Your Website
Having your own website can come in handy in a lot of different ways. It allows you to document what you are doing and serves as a record of how your work is developing. Often, when I receive a client assignment, I look at my website first to remind myself what projects Iâve done recently. If there is an element I notice, a style or color palette that repeats, I can get ideas about how I might vary it, or avoid it, in my future projects. An online portfolio (or website) is useful for potential clients and collaborators, as it showcases what kind of work you are capable of doing and reveals the person behind the work.
Now, how do these clients and collaborators reach your website? Thatâs where social media networks can play a major role. Itâs much less common for someone to find your site through an internet search, and much more likely that they will find it through a social media network.
