Lust, feeling the ground shake as the two titans savagely attacked one another, pushed herself back to her feet, letting her body regenerate. The lack of a head wasn’t painful, just very uncomfortable. Not being able to see, hear, or taste had left the demoness slightly unsettled.

Once her head was regrown, she reflexively touched it to make sure everything was where it belonged. “Good,” she sighed. “That was most unexpected.”

She turned to the sounds of trees burning, freezing, and snapping.

Lust shook her head. “What did that idiot do?”

“Yeah, what did he do to Lucia?” Dinar asked from behind the demoness. “Maybe you should start explaining.” Gifford stood behind the elf while Fina held onto the foxkin’s arm.

Lust stood up, brushing the dirt and dried blood off her for the second time that day. She swore to herself she was done making a habit of that.

She pinched the bridge of her nose. “And why should I explain myself?”

Dinar chuckled. “What else are you going to do? Besides, your vanity is dying to gloat at how your plan was so close to succeeding.”

Lust chuckled back. “Perceptive. You want to know?” All three of them nodded. “Fine. Wrath was supposed to give Lucia his blessing—a small piece of his power. But instead, he practically demonfied her by tying his existence to hers. That’s why she’s grown so powerful.”

The demoness cringed when Lucia dragged Wrath through a section of trees by his tails. “I doubt even he believed that such a wellspring of wrath was possible in a mere mortal. He won’t admit it though. You misspoke, by the way. My plan didn’t fail.”

Dinar arched an eyebrow. “You wanted Lucia to beat you up again and get into a fight with the sin of wrath?”

Lust clicked her tongue. “No. Those are just inconveniences. But I’ve always allowed for some wiggle room. All that matters in the end is results.”

“Your plan sucks,” Gifford chided. “Why go through all this effort, all this scheming, if you’re so powerful? It seems childish and redundant.”

Lust turned and raised her hand to crush the beastkin’s head.

“Do you really want to do that?” Dinar asked, pointing her thumb towards Lucia and Wrath leveling the forest in their fight. “I’m sure I can reach her by carrying a scream on the wind. If you think she has a vendetta against you now, imagine if you kill someone close to her.”

Lust turned and swallowed. She could kill these three, but then the out-of-control wolf would know she had done it.

The elf was right, but the disrespect the fox boy showed her still gnawed at her. She knew her plans and schemes all had a purpose, and if the fox was too narrow-minded to understand that, it was his problem.

She lowered her hand. “I won’t dignify that with a response.”

She turned to watch the trees come to life, trying to involve themselves in the fight between the two titans. They didn’t even cause either titan to flinch. Lust realized neither even noticed that Ruin was trying to kill them with her forest.
