This is an important activity to have in our strategy. As the product grows, we not only have to test the newly added features and fixes, but we also need to confirm that our expectations of how the system worked in the past are still true. But as we learned, there is a difference between what our automation tools tell us about our system and what we as individuals observe. A successful strategy balances the use of automation to help support us and warn us of potential changes so that we can utilize other testing activities (such as exploratory testing) to learn more.
