Make the tuna: Coat the tuna all over with the sesame oil and season with salt. Spread the sesame seeds in a shallow bowl. Press each side of the tuna in the seeds to coat.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is shimmering, add the tuna. Cook for about 1 minute, until the sesame seeds are golden brown. Flip the steak and cook for about 1 more minute, until the sesame seeds are toasted. Use tongs to turn and cook each narrow side for about 30 seconds, just to toast the seeds.
