Change a User’s User Type

To change a team member’s user type, find their entry on the Team Members page. In the user’s listing, click their name. You can elevate a regular member into an admin or an owner (Figure 17), or switch them to a guest on a paid team. In addition, on a paid team, the status of a guest can be changed.

Figure 17: Admins can modify a member’s privileges. There’s a hierarchy to how changes are allowed:

An owner or admin can change the type of any full member or guest, including elevating a non-admin to admin status.

An admin can elevate other users to admin, but can’t downgrade admins or owners.

An owner can downgrade an admin, but not other owners.

The primary owner can downgrade owners and transfer primary ownership to another user.
