Chapter Nine
@sawyerscovedaily Oh boy. That kiss. You know what Iâm talking about. #ineedacoldshower #lilyer #sawly #sawyerscove #episode2
Crosby often lost himself in his characters. He liked to be the person in the script, to bring the words to physical life and take a break from being himself. It was one of the perks of his professionâgetting a vacation from his shy, awkward self and trying on someone elseâs personality for size.
So when Darren, playing the part of Hank, who his character, Grady, very much wanted to kiss, kissed him, at first it made perfect sense. It even said it right there in the scriptâGRADY KISSES HANK. An unambiguous stage direction if there ever was one. Darren had obviously read the same words Crosby had.
But what might have begun as a stage kiss had crossed over into uncharted territory. Darren moved his head, opened his mouth, and now they were actually kissing each other. The unmistakable shift and slide of lips, the taste of Darrenâs after-dinner whisky, the scent of the innâs signature soap on Darrenâs skin.
Darren was kissing him.
And Crosby was kissing back.
He should pull away. He should wipe his mouth and make a joke about stage kissing. He should put a stop to it. Darren must have gotten carried away with the sceneâhe wouldnât want to be actually kissing Crosby.
All evidence to the contrary, Crosbyâs mind supplied as the pressure from Darrenâs lips increased and Crosby responded in kind. They were trading kisses now, no other body part touching except their mouths. They werenât even kissing with tongue, but it was still the hottest kiss Crosby had ever experienced.
Because this was Darren Silverstein.
Crosby had watched him kiss Nash Speedwell enough times to know Darren had to be a good kisser. His lips werenât overly plump, like Crosbyâs, but they were full enough to give his partner something to work with. Darren seemed to smile through his kisses, and this was no exception. Crosby felt the curve of his mouth against his, as if he found the encounter amusing. Or perhaps simply pleasurable.
Was that possible? Could Crosby be giving Darren pleasure? Fuck, the concept went straight to his dick; he was getting hard. His face went hot at this development, and his hands, which had been keeping him anchored to the bed under the onslaught of Darrenâs mouth, suddenly felt overlarge and clumsy. Should he touch Darren? Should he cover himself up? Should he stop kissing the guy heâd wanted to kiss for almost half his life?
So many options, and none of them good.
Heâd pretty much resigned himself to having to spend the rest of his life on this bed, mouth fused to Darrenâs. At least that way theyâd never have to talk about it, even if they died from dehydration and chapped lips.
Then Darrenâs tongue finally, finally breached Crosbyâs mouth, and it was shockingly good. His involuntary groan was so loud, he startled himself into motion, springing back and breaking contact decisively. The groan had been more of a moan, to be honest, and it had sounded undeniably wanton.
