P Basic task creation
At a minimum, your chosen software should allow you to:
⢠Create a task
⢠Assign the task to a team member
⢠Tag other team members who need to receive updates on the progress
⢠Set deadlines for when the task needs to be completed
To be honest, youâd be really hard-pressed to find a project management software that doesnât have these basic features. These are the fundamentals of good project management. But donât assume â check that these fundamentals are in place.
P Sub-task creation
Again, this is a pretty standard feature, but itâs critical so be sure itâs available. You need to be able to split individual tasks into a series of sub-tasks based on the required steps in the documented systems that youâve created. These sub-tasks should also allow for assigning â itâs this feature that will allow you to create true accountability in your team.
Sub-tasks are ticked off as the team member completes steps, which also allows you to ensure projects are progressing as planned and gives a place for comments and questions where they arise.
