▶ Cut the butter into the flour. Add the cream and mix quickly together. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for several hours.

Roll into a ½ cm (¼ inch) thick, 15 cm (6 inch) wide rectangle. Cut horizontally into 1 cm (⅜ inch) wide strips.

Form into pretzels, as illustrated, and place on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.

Bake on the center oven rack for around 7 minutes.

Remove from the oven and immediately dip in sugar to coat all sides.
