The next week and a half are a blur, spending as much time with my girl as I can. Much to the displeasure of her mutt. We can both tell how much the tension between us stresses her out, so we've waved a white flag for the time being. Sharing Elora isn’t something I ever thought I would do.

I've been taking every opportunity to show her my world, she’s even been spending a lot of time with me at Merge. My heart is beyond full seeing how she takes my darkness just as well as every other part of me. She’s still not being honest about what she does for a living, so naturally I had Lindsay book them for one of my lounges.

I shrug off my jacket, settling back down at my desk as he enters, taking the place in. “Nice supervillain hideout.” He states in a mocking tone.

Stupid fucker actually made me smile.

“Where’s Elora?” I ask ignoring the comment, she's always with one of us. I hate the idea of her being alone. We spent the morning together and most of lunch. I never tire of making that woman come undone in my mouth.

“With Vladimir they’re going museum hopping. I think he's trying to butter her up before he tells her about her father.” I nod. “Why are you here Jasper? Not that I don't so enjoy your company.” He rolls his eyes at my sarcasm. He’s starting to make me feel uneasy, anxiety is rolling off him in droves.

He looks down shaking his head before walking over and taking a seat in front of me. “Her father is being released.” I tense, how the fuck didn’t I know?
