Chapter Six

“Thank you for saving me again,” Alicia murmured to Howie, about to alight from the car. He was currently parked at the front of her home.

“Anytime, Alicia, but I think you owe me now.” He smiled at her, and her grin widened, taking it for a joke, but Howie was serious. From the moment she’d stepped into his office that morning, he knew he had to do something about his growing feelings. He couldn't wait for another man to snatch her up before he’d come to his senses. “You owe me two favors,” he growled out in a smooth drawl that had Alicia’s insides quivering.

“Y-you’re serious,” she whispered, her eyes wide, staring into his, a line of worry etched on her face.

“Relax, love.” He smiled softly at her, placing one of his hands over hers that was resting on her thigh.

Her eyes drifted down to the hand resting above hers, and she swallowed.

“W-what do you want?” She stared into his hazel eyes, her eyes hammering against her chest, not from fear but from curiosity. It wasn’t helping matters that her lady parts were suddenly reacting to the man’s good looks, her nipples tingling in her bra, and her pussy dripping from need. It had never been that way with Morrison.

Howie had the strong urge to tell her he wanted her, but he couldn’t take the chance of scaring her off just when she was beginning to get comfortable with him.

“One, I need you to get a restraining order against that bastard. I won’t always be with you, and things could go south once he knows you have no one to defend you.” His hand moved from hers and lifted her chin, moving to cup her cheek. “Please tell me you’ll do it.”

Alicia nodded in agreement.

“I will.”

“Good. Now for the second one—” His eyes stared at hers intently, his thumb rubbing her bottom lip slowly. His tongue sneaked out to wet his lips, and he saw the way Alicia’s eyes latched on to that little pink flesh, lust blazing in them. His smile slid off his face. “Kiss me, Alicia,” he demanded in a soft voice, his eyes holding hers as if daring her to back down.

At first, Alicia stared at him, wondering if she’d heard him right, but a part of her was hoping he was asking for what she’d thought she’d heard. A week ago, she’d have recoiled at thoughts of kissing Howie Holland, but now, she would do it without a second thought. She’d always found him attractive, but there was a time she’d thought he was way above her league. But now here he was, helping her in the best way possible and only requesting a kiss as payback.

“I know you want to do it, baby. Give me those lips,” he growled out, inserting his thumb into her mouth. Alicia innocently sucked on it, emanating an animalistic growl from him. He wished her lips could be wrapped around his cock the way they were wrapped around his thumb.
