Glossing over the obvious criticism of academic practice, it also seems that the critique might have extended to their own practices of such things as direct democracy, or consensus decision making. This, however, was problematic as discussed earlier. There are indications that the movement were, at the very least, reticent about criticism of them, which seemed to include by their own activists. As this conversation extract shows:

CE: I did an interview in TCU and one of the things that was said was that they weren’t sure that consensus decision making was working or could work.

Harry: And that’s a very brave thing for somebody to say, especially at that point, because that’s been a real bone of contention to this day that, if you say, I don’t think consensus decision making is working for us – oh my god! Shit would fly!
