16 – Southern Cabbage
This is a very basic, but very tasty, cabbage recipe. It creates cabbage that is tender but also a bit firm. It’s filled with flavor and even the juice left behind in the pot is tasty!
Makes 4 Servings
Cooking + Prep Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients: • 1 1/2 to 2 cups of broth, chicken
• 2 tbsp. of olive oil, extra virgin
• 1/2 tsp. seasoning salt
• 1/2 tsp. of salt, kosher
• Black pepper, ground
• 2 tbsp. of butter, softened
• 1 cabbage head
1 cabbage head inch width.
2. Add cabbage, salt pepper, olive oil and butter into large-sized pot.
3. Add chicken broth. Toss ingredients.
4. Bring to boil on med-high. Cover. Reduce the heat to med-low.
5. Stir occasionally while simmering until the cabbage becomes tender. Don’t overcook. Serve warm.
