Robinho flies over his opponent to save the ball from going out of bounds. Robinho has the ability to be a real game changer when he is at his best.

He maintained his momentum the following season. He recorded seven goals and six assists in one sizzling stretch in the fall of 2007. His team won every match in which he scored during that hot streak. Robinho went on another tear in the winter with eight goals and four assists in one fifteen-game period. His scoring explosion helped Real Madrid capture its second straight league title.

There was just one problem. Robinho had become unhappy with his team. His three-year contract was nearing an end. He was upset that Real Madrid would not allow him to play for Brazil in the 2006 Summer Olympics.

He also did not believe Real Madrid was working hard enough to keep him. He felt snubbed when the team declared its interest in signing Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. Robinho would not play another match for Real Madrid.
