CHAPTER FOURTEEN

As soon as Snake and Bella walked down the stairs into the main room, Lina came right up to them. The bar was hopping, and the drinks were flowing. Bella was taking in the sights. She could tell the strippers from the bunnies from the get-go. Unbelievably the strippers had more class. At least in her opinion.

“Can Red and I borrow your girl? We are backed up behind the bar.”

“Up to Bella if she wants to help.”

“Absolutely. Just don’t mind my boot,” Bella replied kicking her foot out a smidge.

“Girl, we got you.”

Bella turned to Snake and kissed him on the lips. Strategically placing herself in a way that any lingering eyes could see her cut and to whom she belonged. Snake caught on to what she was doing. He loved how devious she could be.

“Making yourself known, are ya?” he whispered in her ear.

“You bet. This may be your territory, but I’m yours and they need to know.”

Snake let out a guttural belly laugh. He loved her more every day and she had no clue. He would have to tell her, and soon.

As Lina whisked Bella back behind the bar, Snake grabbed a beer from Red and went to Demon’s usual corner booth. They could talk shop without being too obvious.

“I see you claimed her.”

“Yep, I sure did.”

“Told you. Fought it every step of the way didn’t ya?”

“Yeah. But this feels right.”

“Happy for you, brother. Crimson has been shut down, due to “health code violations” so we have time to flush them out.”

“What about Saints and the Pothole?” The Pothole was the repair shop Phoenix worked at in his off time.

“Open for now, just watched closely.”

“Eyes and ears everywhere?”

“Yep. Just need to tear Pyro away from Princess long enough.”

Again, Snake laughed. That man had it bad for that woman. So much so he would make an ass out of himself at some point. Snake continued to look around the room. Matrix had his Barbie doll of a date with him. The nurse from the hospital came to see Chips, and Phoenix was sitting at the bar fending off the bunnies trying to get to him.

Bella fit in perfectly behind the bar. She had some skills slinging drinks. This was not what he wanted for her. He wanted her to follow her dream of opening her own store and designing her own line. The more he stared at his girl, the more he felt a set of eyes on him. He turned his head to the right just a hair and saw Silver. She had just come in the door. She was the one woman he didn’t want to see. This was not going to be good if Bella caught wind of anything.

Silver sauntered over to the booth.

“Can a lady rest her feet for a few minutes?”

“Plenty of seats around. Go ahead.” Snake said pulling from his beer.

“I like this seat the best. Do you mind?”

“Actually, I do.”

“Is that any way to treat one of your best customers?”

“Not on company time.
