So, they have something planned at the restaurant at close again. This time, on the eleventh.

Tomorrow.

Last week, I learned the hard way to keep my forum profile status set to offline. And again about midweek when I forgot to set it as invisible before popping on. Car forum members are like a moth to a flame when a female avatar and name pops up as online. I can hardly scroll the forum without a chat bubble popping up.

The one time I did make that mistake, Hayes offered assistance again. That time, I spotted the admin badge near his name. Before changing my status as offline, I sent him a quick “pew, pew” just for kicks. As far as I know, he isn’t aware that DoubleD is me, but he still played along, sending back one of those gun emojis.

I couldn’t wipe the grin off my face.

Conversations with Hayes have steadily gotten longer throughout the week, too. Instead of one- or two-word responses, he is now being a bit more talkative with his texts — somewhere along the four- or five-word response mark.

Progress.

He’s a nerd, not a mute. My money is on that he is plenty chatty, but it takes being part of his circle to earn that reward. Part of me wants inside that circle. To hear what he has to say. To be someone he wants to talk to.

Amid witty text banter and daily updates, friendships seem to have formed. Trenton has continued to text me while not mentioning our one-night thing and not pushing to have a repeat. The seemingly legit and continued, casual interest is about as much of a turn on as the immediate physical interest was.

My stomach flips at the thought of seeing them both again, bringing me right back to the days in high school when that anticipation made your fingers shaky and caused funny sensations to swirl in your belly.

When the time finally rolls around that I need to get dressed and ready to go, I quite intentionally pick out a pair of shorts like the ones I wore to The Crowbar that first night. I usually prefer jeans when riding, but tonight I intend on making a statement. These guys may think they are getting to know me, but once they see what I ride, their entire perceptions are bound to change. It’s not a secret I really planned to keep, but after a bit, I decided it would be a fun surprise.

Add in a sexy outfit, and the first impression should be epic. There’s a lot I’ve been looking forward to about this night all week. Seeing them tops the list, but the more I’ve gotten to know them, having them see me… a peek at the real me… the more exciting this element has become.

Nerves course through me, too. Will they be frustrated that I didn’t tell them? Will they be disappointed in my vehicle? Not that it really matters, but apparently they’ve somehow made me care about their opinions.

Damn them.
