Chapter 15

Snow

“Snow! We thought you weren’t coming,” Ace said, sitting up on the sofa to make room for me. He patted his side at the same time as Pierce did the same thing. Tommo remained laid across his sofa, so I walked over to him and made him move up.

“See, guys. Play hard to get, always,” Tommo scoffed at the other two.

“I’m not choosing my favourite wolf. This has the best view of the television,” I pointed out, settling back to watch the race. I ought to be supporting the UK drivers, but I had a secret crush on Carlos Sainz, so checked the board to see what position he was in.

“What’s Kellan doing? He said he was going to invite you to join us and now he’s not returned,” Ace asked.

“He was talking to my father.”

Tommo raised a brow. “Has the shit hit the fan?”

“My dad just wanted to make sure it was okay for me to stay here.”

“Yeah, I bet he has nothing to say about the fact we kidnapped you at all.”

“You’re very sarcastic,” I noted.

“You’re very naïve,” he shot back.

“Where’s Raina tonight?” I asked him.

“Babysitting her younger brothers and sisters. So there’s a space in my bed if you want it.”

Ace drew a sharp intake of breath.

“I don’t, but thanks. For a start I should imagine your sheets have more jizz than an IVF clinic.”

Pierce cackled.

“They probably do,” Tommo agreed. “I like you, Snow. You have sass. If you want to clean my bedsheets tomorrow feel free.”

“What, so I can climb in your bed afterwards?”

“Only if you can’t help yourself,” he said.

Then a crash in the race distracted us from teasing each other. Hamilton having been forced out.

I stayed awhile, all of us caught up in the race, with only the odd comment about what we were watching. But after forty-five minutes, I became concerned that Kellan hadn’t returned. Was he still chatting with my father?

“I’m going to make my way back upstairs now. Kellan’s either still on my phone to my father, or maybe asleep? I’ll go check what’s happening anyway. Pierce, shall I meet you about four pm tomorrow to go through what evidence you have so far?”

“Sounds like a plan. I’ll bring everything here.”

“Will you be cooking for us all again tomorrow, Snow?” Tommo asked.

“I’d like to if it’s okay with you?”

All three of them nodded.

“And if we wash our own sheets, would you do a quick vampire vacuum around our rooms?” Tommo added.

I laughed. “If you’d like your room cleaning, then please remove anything I might find disagreeable, and I’ll see what I can do. Stick a note on the door that it’s okay for me to clean up and let the others know please.”

“I thought women wanted to share chores these days?” Ace asked.

“I’ve not volunteered to be your servant. It’s about choice, Ace. Right now, I don’t mind helping to get your place shipshape. My vampire speed has me at an advantage. But once your rooms are clean then you have a fresh start and should stop being such utter dirty pigs.
