Today, I woke up well rested and full of joy. It should feel wrong, but it didn’t. I felt free. I belong to Sergei, yet I feel freer than I’ve ever felt.

I ventured out and spent the day exploring Sergei’s house. House is not an accurate word. More like an estate.

When Olga told me Miss Becca was here to see me, I didn’t know what to do. First I was terrified, because I don’t know any Becca, but then I realized I was surrounded by Sergei’s guards, so she must be friendly.

And she was. She’s beautiful, charming, and so sweet, and it was nice to meet someone from Sergei’s family. She obviously loves her cousin, and she kept saying how happy she was that someone finally captured his heart. I hope she’s right and he doesn’t tire of me.

She was kind enough to give me a tour of the home, and it was honestly overwhelming. The man is extremely rich. The house sits on top of a huge cliff overlooking the valley below, and there are six bedrooms and ten bathrooms. There’s a gourmet kitchen that Olga runs with an iron fist, and Becca and I couldn’t help laughing when one of Sergei’s guards tried to snag a cupcake off the counter. Olga slapped his hand with a wooden spoon, scolding him in Russian, and the large man immediately cowered to the petite, silver haired woman.

The house also has a theatre room, gym, and sauna. There’s an indoor and outdoor pool, and I can’t wait to explore the garden with Sergei.

When we entered an office, Becca said, “Sergei said to decorate it however you like. It’s your office now.”

“My office?”

“He said you’re an author?”

I gasped. “I’m not, but I want to be. How did he know?”

She just chuckled. “It’s best not to ask. The Sokolov men are very resourceful.”

“I can’t believe this is mine. It’s too much. I haven’t been here twenty-four hours and he’s giving me an office?”

There was a brand new laptop on the desk and a card that read, “Don’t say it’s too much. It’s yours so deal with it. Love, Serg.”

I giggled and Becca smirked. “He actually said you can redecorate the entire house if you want. I think he even said if you don’t like this house he’ll buy another.”

“No way. He’s crazy.”

“Of course he is. He’s a Sokolov. They never do anything small. They’re intense, but the best kind of intense.”

When Becca left she promised to take me to lunch. She said when Summer returns from her honeymoon, we’ll all have to get together. I hope she can forgive me for what I did at her reception. Becca said she wouldn’t blame me, but we’ll see.

Now, I’m getting ready for our date.

Olga knocks on the bathroom door and says, “Mr. Sokolov has a gift for you. It’s on the bed.”

I roll my eyes because of course he does.

Laying on the bed is a large gold box with a silky black bow. I rip it apart and lift the lid to find a green slip dress, and the fabric feels so luxurious.
