Ilooked over everything Ags gave me, and I felt like a fucking idiot for not realizing it sooner.

I took pictures and sent them over to Leo and asked him to send them over to the administration office so they’d get it first thing so there was no way for the snake to get in first. He sent a message back confirming it, and I relaxed into the seat next to her.

She finished eating, and I felt her eyes on me as I figured out my feelings over all the shit that had happened. Going back, that first night must’ve been when I’d gotten her pregnant.

It had to be because that was the only condom that had broken, and I’d been a fucking idiot for not mentioning it sooner.

“So…” She set the wrappers on the little table next to the couch and turned to face me.

“I’d understand if you don’t want to keep seeing me after how I acted.” I scratched the back of my head and stared into her beautiful eyes. This whole mess wasn’t how I wanted it.

Yet here we fucking were. Leo had listened to me vent and helped me realize Agatha was more important than teaching at the university. No, I didn’t want to stop working there, but I needed her more.

She’d consumed my thoughts since I first met her at the bar.

“I’m so damn sorry.” I resisted the urge to touch her and pull her into my lap.

“And I’m sorry I didn’t tell you before then. But I also didn’t expect my ex to come crashing into my house.” She shrugged, and I pulled her closer and kissed the top of her head.

“Baby girl, you’ve stolen my fucking heart.”

She tilted her head, and tears filled her eyes. Fuck, did I mess up again?

I may be older, but I’d never had a good solid relationship with a woman before her. They’d been flings before college or a month or two where it was mostly about sex to get off before a test. Nothing serious.

With her, I could stay up all night talking and laughing. She’s filled a gap in my life I didn’t fully understand was missing until then.

“Are you saying in a roundabout way that you love me?” Her brow arched, and I chuckled while grabbing her cheeks and kissing her.

“Yes, I love you.” My lips were inches away from hers.

“And the baby?” She sucked in her lower lip.

“Not exactly how I’d planned, but I’ll do my best to be a wonderful dad to our child.”

“You two staying here or your place?” Ru asked from the kitchen, breaking the moment completely.

“Come to my place. He doesn’t know where I live.”

“I can’t move in with you yet.” She sighed, and I thought about it. She was right, as long as we kept this a secret, I couldn’t have her living with me.

“I don’t know how we can make this work, but for now we have time before you show. But I’d feel a hell of a lot better if you were safe at my place with Jack out on bail.
