Kneeling Hip Flexor Stretch

Most runners lack sufficient hip-flexion range of motion. This stretch lengthens the hip flexors.

Kneel on your right knee and place your left foot flat on the floor with a ninety-degree bend in the knee. Grab the ends of a strap in both hands, loop it around your left knee and pull gently toward your body. Keeping your torso upright, contract your glutes and press your hips forward until you feel a good stretch at the front of your right hip. Hold the stretch for one minute and then reverse your stance and stretch the left hip.
