I open my eyes the following morning and stretch out my body. I roll over to find myself lying in bed naked and … alone. Last night’s work-out was definitely that, a work-out. Romeo is so incredibly talented, beautiful not to mention flexible, especially when he had me on that pull-up machine and—

My thought goes unfinished as I feel my phone vibrate from the nightstand. I roll over and notice the caller ID on the screen. I answer the call and put the phone on speaker, and sleepily answer, “Mom?”

“Hi, honey. Are you feeling, okay? It’s after noon.”

I roll over to the other side of the bed and look at the digital clock display on the nightstand. It reads five minutes past noon. Wow, I really must have passed out last night. Actually, after that workout, I’m surprised I barely have the capacity to move. Although, I certainly won’t deny how spectacular the man was last night.

“Julian?”

Shit.

“Sorry, Mom. Yeah, I’m feeling okay. I just … got home late from the construction site last night,” I answer quickly, remembering my cover story.

I sit up on the bed, yawning as I pick up the phone, take it off the speaker and bring it to my ear.

“I’m heading downtown. Do you need anything from the store?” she asks.

“No, I’m fine, thank you,” I reply.

She ends the call, and I place my phone back on the nightstand, then jump out of bed and head for the shower.
