Idrink the last of my lemonade. Dylan goes inside to work on paperwork in his office, and the ranch hands return to their cabin to get out of the sun. Ella, Destiny, and the kids are off to get ice cream with Destiny's parents. Brandy is the last to go, saying she has to start setting up for lunch, leaving Juliet and me alone on the terrace.

"Hey, might I ask you for a favor?" I ask her.

Juliet brightens up, displaying that characteristic generous nature of hers. "Of course."

"I'm running low on a few things I wished I'd brought from my house. I want to grab them, but I'm afraid Dylan won't stand for it. I hate to put you in this position, but… would you go with me?" I feel odd about asking, not wanting her to feel obligated, but I'd love the company.

"Yeah, sure." Juliet smiles. "Let's head over now."

"Can I take a quick shower before we go? If not, we'll have to ride with the windows down the entire time."

"You don't smell that bad." Juliet chuckles.

Leaving the empty glasses on the terrace, we head to The Mansion and step inside, appreciating the wonders of central air.

"Need an extra towel?" Juliet asks.

"I'll use Dylan's." I head up the stairs, heading for the bathroom. I don't even wait until the water is lukewarm before I step underneath the streaming jet, letting it wash away the salty streaks of sweat.

A knock sounds on the bedroom door as I step out of the shower and wrap a towel around myself.

Juliet is dressed in a green tank top and jean shorts, with her wet auburn hair falling over her shoulders and down her back. "I'll be downstairs whenever you're ready. You want something for lunch before we go?"

"I'll grab something when we get back."

After Juliet heads for the stairs, I dress in light grey sweats and a cropped pink top. I pull my damp hair into a bun and go downstairs.

"You sure you don't want anything?" she asks, crunching an apple. "Destiny brought back a whole basket of these apples from the farmer's market."

"I'm fine. Besides, I just need to grab a few things at my house. Then we'll be back."

Juliet puts down her half-eaten apple. "Yeah, and you'll need something for the party tonight."

"There's a party?"

"Now that the holiday is over and everyone is checking out the cabins, Dylan and Carter like to have a little get-together for the employees. Bonuses. Stuff like that."

"Hmm. Dylan might've mentioned it. I don't remember. So now I have to grab a dress for that, I see."

Juliet picks up her apple and takes another bite. "Dylan goes all out… DJ. Open bar. The works. And a cleaning service will come tomorrow morning, so the staff doesn't have to worry about anything."

"He thinks of everything, doesn't he?"

Juliet nods, chewing her bite of apple. "Okay, we can go now if you want."

"No hurry." I sit at the counter. "Finish your apple."

Juliet takes another bite. "So, what else do you need to get at the house?"

I think about it for a moment.
