I could not agree more with this comparison. To which I would add that there is also a castration taking place in both cases. In the case of female genital mutilation women’s bodies are castrated. Sterile forms of “feminist theory” castrate women’s minds.

Postmodernism does all of this perfectly, and thus succeeds in diverting attention from the horrors of patriarchy. As Kristin Waters summarizes the details:
