Interviewer: Could you talk a little bit about where you might see yourself on that spectrum between a law enforcement–type ideology or orientation and a social work–type orientation?

Robert: I’m probably about as liberal as you can find. I’m sort of of two minds, and I think my inclination is, by and large, people are honest. By and large, they try to do the right thing. However, as they would say in The Big Lebowski, to paraphrase, “Just because I’m a liberal, doesn’t make me a sap.”

Interviewer: [Laughs] I think there might be another two-syllable word somewhere in there, but yeah.

Robert: [Laughs] I don’t want to be taken advantage of.
