T he most important thing to think about when launching a podcast is to think about how passionate you're about the topic matter of your podcast. If you are not hooked into your topic, your interest in podcasting about it'll quickly fade.
This is often the way to launch a podcast in 5 steps.
Get a microphone . I'm not talking a $400 studio microphone, but a minimum of something with decent sound capabilities. Do not, under any circumstances, believe your computer's inbuilt mic. Yes, people will persist with a podcast that sounds a touch weak, if the content is spectacular, but not for long. I suggest the Audio-Technica 2020 USB mic (approx. $100 as of this writing) as an honest place to start from. There are many less costly mics out there, just don't use the one in your computer nor one among those long skinny beige ones that you simply get for $5 from the bin at the pc store.
Decide on a schedule. Weekly, monthly, daily, or whenever you are feeling love it. I suggest weekly since most of the people are conversant in that schedule. Whatever you are doing, confirm that you simply stick with your schedule.
Record your podcast. You'll begin with a free application like Audacity, except for a couple of bucks you'll use something more professional like Adobe Audition or Garage Band.
Decide on a distribution network . My suggestion is to use a burning podcast hosting provider. Sure, it costs a touch extra, but tons of normal Webhosting providers don't support hosting your podcast files. Use a devoted or specialized hosting provider like libsyn for hosting your podcast files, and therefore the iTunes music store for distribution to a good audience. iTunes is that the easiest place to host your podcast and is typically the simplest for your listeners to use. Whatever podcast hosting you select, will assist you with uploading the files.
Promote your podcast. Find out who must hear your show, and put it ahead of them. If you've chosen a distribution network wisely, you've also made it easy for people to subscribe to your podcast show, which can make it easy for your audience to grow.
Some may argue that promoting the podcast to a large audience is more important than choosing the content of the show. There's some validity to the present. Some audiences are too small to form them commercially viable.
However, podcasting should be about your passion and not about the dimensions of the audience. It's up to you to decide whether you would like to figure on something solely supported the dimensions of the audience that might hear it, rather than something that you simply hooked in to.
