Chapter Five

PIRATE WAR

The girls were already at Duck Lake and ready to launch their ship when Spike and I arrived.

‘What sort of pirate ship is that?’ I asked when I saw Marcy and Bella’s ship.

‘Our ship is a fearsome ship and it’s called Purple Kaos … And my name is Captain Kaos and that’s Captain Purple,’ Marcy said, pointing at Bella.

‘Well, Captain Kaos and Captain Purple – nice bathtub,’ I said with a chuckle.

Marcy glared at me.

‘We’re going to capture your rub-a-dub-tub ship and then we’re going to make you walk the plank and then we’ll take all your treasure. And when we’ve done all that, then we’re going to Duck Island to dig up old Blackbeard’s treasure and then we’ll be rich,’ Spike announced.

‘And good luck with all that,’ Marcy replied.

‘Yeah! And, by the way, the only treasure we’ve got is some chocolate cupcakes covered with strawberry icing and you’re not getting any,’ Bella yelled.

That was it. War had been declared.

We – Captain Hook and Captain Stinker on board the mighty pirate ship The Sinker – were up against that old tub Purple Kaos crewed by girl pirates.

There was just no way we could lose this war!
