“Don’t joke around, Sandro,” Chloe said.

“I’m not,” Sandro said. “I swear, I didn’t touch him.”

“Do you think it’s possible…” I started, “…that the snowman is ALIVE?!”

The idea scared the bejeepers out of me.

“No way. You’re seeing things, dude,” said Sandro. “One time, after I got a tooth pulled at the dentist’s office, I thought I saw a dragon with fire breath. It was really just a lady with a lot of red hair. Relax, bud.”

“It did it again!” I shouted, pointing at it. “Its arms were down, and now they’re up. I swear! This snowman is moving every time we turn our backs.”

“Snowmen can’t move, though!” Sandro said. “They can’t walk, they can’t jump, and they certainly can’t get mad.… Can they?”

“I think Peter’s right,” Chloe said. “This is freaking me out. We should get out of here.…”

“Agreed,” I said. As the three of us left, I looked back. I couldn’t be sure, but it seemed like all the snowmen had moved toward us.
