It’s okay to be cautious and careful, which protects you, but fear is different. Fear can be a paralyzing spirit. Can you think of a few things you are afraid of that are not life-threatening, yet are overwhelming?

In chapter 9 of Overcoming When You Feel Overwhelmed (under the heading “Facing Fear”), I wrote: Faith is not denial. It is not false hope that pretends you don’t have issues, problems or situations that require emergency intervention. . . . Face and battle fear with faith. Don’t deny what is happening in or around you. Confront the fear and focus on God.
