Chapter 11

"Through the magic of computers, we've been able to locate multiple aliases for our Mr. Tamm, and the fingerprints for one of those aliases was on the antihistamine bottle."

“Wow. That's quite a piece of evidence. I think I'd better come over and meet you. I presume you're at the same location as last night?”

“Yes.”

“Be there in thirty.”

Jill looked at the clock and decided it was likely going to be a late-night for all of them. The detective would arrive roughly about 9pm. "The detective is going to arrive in about thirty minutes. Do we have any dessert we can share with him? The poor guy probably just got home from the scene at the cemetery, and hasn't had time to eat yet."

"We do have extras, so if he brings anyone with him, we can feed them too," Nathan said. Hope nodded at his reply while she continued crocheting a sweater.

Jill leaned over Marie and Jo to see how it was going with the identification of people. Jo hadn't found anything on Mr. Tamm, and now she understood why – it was a fake name that he used for purposes other than paying bills. With Henrik's list in hand, Jo had begun searching the alias names for information. "So this name that is attached to the fingerprints appears to be his real name, Andrei Danilov, right?"

“Yes, what did you find on him?” Jill asked.

“I just started searching, but it's going to be slow. Everything has to be translated into English. They use a different accounting system in Russia, but that's mostly corporate finance, not the reports of how Russian citizens do their banking. There's poor transparency, so I doubt I'm going to find anything on anyone. I would be better served helping Marie do her thing.”

"I don't disagree with you, Jo. By the way, I'm going to keep calling him Mr. Tamm as that is easier for me to pronounce than his real name. Marie, have you found anything new with any of Mr. Tamm's names?" Jill asked.

“Jeez, I've only had the names for five minutes. You're expecting miracles here.”

“Well, was there a miracle? Do you have a breakthrough?”

"Not yet. Mostly because I started to work on the first one on Henrik's list, which wasn't the alias that might be his real name with the fingerprints. There's a Facebook profile on the first name that appears to have been active for about five years but went dormant about two years ago. There's a Russian Facebook company called VK, which is short for Vkontakte, and there was a profile there with basically the same information. Now I'll move on to Andrei Danilov."

Jo and Angela assisted Marie by searching for some of the other aliases. Henrik excused himself for the night to get work done but leaned down to kiss Marie before he left the suite for their own. Nathan and Hope had their heads together compiling menus for the next day, though they were supposed to leave late for Montréal.

Almost to the minute, they heard a knock on the suite door.
