Well, they say if you're going to tell a lie make it a big one, and in a similar manner to the quite ludicrous claims that pride, lust and greed, for starters, are quite alien to the Catholic Church, I couldn't resist a cheeky Protestant chuckle when I read in the Daily Mail that one of the modern sins is 'causing poverty and accumulating excessive wealth at the expense of the common good of society'. Pot, kettle, black == hypocrite!

Others include drug use, pollution and mucking about with embryos. See anything missing there? Yep, that would be the sexual abuse of children – a sin which in recent years has become as synonymous with the Catholic Church as married vicars running off with one of the ladies who arranges the church flowers has with the Anglican faith.
