Chapter sixteen

Melissa

All evening while Adam is at work, I can’t stop thinking about what is going to happen once he gets home. I can’t help thinking how much I wish it was my real fiancé who is about to pick up a surprise for me at the store, and I can’t wait to see what he comes home with.

With a little foresight, I knew it would be wise to wear the boys out a bit, so we went out into the backyard after dinner to toss a ball back and forth. I let the kids do all the running so I wouldn’t get worn out too, and it seems to have worked. They went right to sleep after just one story, and both of them called me Miss Mom when they gave me a kiss goodnight.

It was so sweet, but at the same time I feel alarmed by it. Because what if Adam doesn’t want to keep me around? Sure, he wants to fool around, but that’s not the same as marrying someone. I try hard to talk some sense to my head, but it doesn’t want to listen.

I want it too much. All of it. Adam, the kids, the ring on my finger, being Mrs. Barlow instead of Miss Mom. My heart pounds with joy at the mere thought of it becoming real.

I start to read a steamy novel to distract myself, and it works for a while, at least until I know it’s time for Adam to get home. I can hear him as he checks on the boys, so I strike a pose in case he opens my door, and of course he does.

After we kiss a little, he invites me to his room, where I put on the lingerie he got for me as he watches from the bed in nothing but his boxer briefs. God, his dick is so hard I want to forget the nightie and just go hop on, but I scold myself for the thought. “Meow,” he says, grinning at me. Then he snickers, saying, “My kitty didn’t put on the thong that came with that. Bad kitty.”

“So, sue me,” I tease, settling my naked pussy right on top of his rock-hard dick even though he’s still wearing his underwear.

“Impatient puss,” he says, laughing. “Just let me get that for you.”

I move aside so he can get rid of the clothing, and then I watch as he opens the fresh box of twelve condoms and pulls one of the little packets out.
