Create replication user account on Node 1 allowing Node 2 to read logs from Node 1 and flush privileges.

Verify that the replication user created in Node 1 has required privileges to facilitate replication.

Make necessary configuration changes to the configuration file my.cnf located on Node 1. At a minimum, the following are added unless already present. Auto_increment_increment and auto_increment_offset can be set up to avoid collision of auto_increment key values among the MySQL servers participating in the replication configuration. server_id needs to be unique. These are the minimum parameters, but these can be expanded to suit the particular need of the organization by the DBA.
